The occupiers continue their information propaganda campaign in Luhansk oblast. TRYBUN analyzed the fakes which Russians spread in July 2023.
So, two videos from the propaganda Telegram channel "FRONTSTORIZ" became the most demonstrative. The first video was published on July 16 - "One year later... Sievierodonetsk", the second one appeared on the channel on July 26 under the title "One year later... Lysychansk".
The idea of these videos is not even to talk about the real situation in the city, but to show that during the year of occupation, Russia did the maximum for the life of the civilian population.
Let's analyze the first video. There are three heroes - Matvii, Regina and Yehor.
In general, they say the same text, but in different words. After watching their interviews, you can single out a key phrase common to all of them: “Stores are open, homes are being restored.”
However, let us remind you that it was the Russians who purposefully hit food warehouses during the intense battles for Sievierodonetsk.
“The Russians are targeting food warehouses in Sievierodonetsk – they know where the warehouses are located, but the occupiers do not know whether they are full or not. Several targeted enemy hits on food warehouses in Sievierodonetsk. The next one is on the evening of March 25,” ex-head of Luhansk regional military administration Serhiy Hayday reported on March 26, 2022 in a week.
The Amstor shopping center, where the Silpo supermarket was located, looks like this after the Russian shelling:
The occupiers simply "squeezed out" the premises of more or less surviving Ukrainian supermarkets and opened their own there:
The Russians have so morally destroyed the residents of Sievierodonetsj that they are happy because of the opened store.
The second thing they talk about in the video is the restoration of houses and communications in them. However, how does such a recovery take place? Locals told about it.
So, in order to carry out repair and restoration work, builders break into apartments without the permission of the owners:
“Now they are changing the heating system, and it doesn't matter if you want to change the batteries or not!!", - reported the woman from Sievierodonetsk.
Local residents talk the following about the free “restoration”:
“Dear residents of Sievierodonetsk! Take your time to rejoice in the good condition of your houses. You will look at the quality of the installation more carefully, and you will immediately understand that when winter comes, the wind will simply whistle through your new windows.”
The point that debunked the beautiful picture on TV in this story was the words of a Russian volunteer who came to Sievierodonetsk after a year of occupation. She compared the situation in the city to the movie "Stalker":
"Whoever watched the movie “Stalker” certainly remembers the Zone. This is a place of alienation. There is nothing. Broken houses overgrown with grass, deserted streets, and complete silence, where there is not even the chirping of birds. This is what the city of Sievierodonetsk looks like now. A year ago, Russian troops entered the city after Ukraine. After 365 days of a new life, neither the people who remained there, nor even the animals, have seen any changes for the better yet. If people can help themselves survive, then silent cats and dogs can do nothing. They run through wastelands, hide in basements, find shelter in abandoned broken houses.
The next video is called “One year later… Lysychansk”. It also tells about the almost heavenly life of local residents. The interview was given by three residents of Lysychansk: Olha, Valentina and Andrii.
It should be noted that two of them are minors, so during the survey, the Russians could exert considerable pressure on the children.
The residents of Lysychansk, different from the residents of Sievierodonetsk, did not report anything new. The children said that a lot of shops had opened. That's all. Perhaps the Russians did not ask the adult population about the situation, because they could tell about the lack of electricity and water in the city center for more than a year:
The so-called mayor of occupied Lysychansk, Andrii Skoryi, promises people public utilities in their apartments every month, and the press service of the "administration" even reported on the works:
According to their data, water is connected to more than six thousand houses, and electricity is connected to almost 10 thousand. In addition, 15 thousand users already allegedly have electricity. However in the local chat, people write about the empty promises made by the so-called “mayor”:
Therefore, we do not advise you to believe the beautiful pictures on the Russian occupiers' resources, because they do it only for their own benefit. The occupying forces destroyed the cities in Luhansk oblast and they unlikely will restore them.
