Spreading fakes and launching them into the information space in the occupied territories, the enemy resorts to various tactics. One of them is to take real facts, provisions of laws and fill them with false content.
Donbas SOS coordinator Violeta Artemchuk told about such cases in her commentary for TRIBUN.
Residents of the occupied territories continue to contact the hotline of the human rights organization, whose specialists provide people with truthful information.
1. Is it true that when crossing the checkpoint "Kolotylivka-Pokrovka" Ukrainian border guards are obliged to take out all documents issued during the occupation (passport of the Russian Federation, diplomas of education received in the occupied territory, residence permits, etc.)? But these documents may be needed to establish my identity and the fact of living in the occupation.
This is a fake. Ukrainian border guards do not seize such documents. There are no relevant orders. Moreover, the State Border Service receives regular clarifications regarding actions with documents.
However, sometimes we receive individual complaints about the withdrawal of such documents. These are purely individual cases. We recommend that when planning a crossing and having such fears, record the name and surname of the people (everyone has badges) and to which service the person belongs (border, customs, etc.). In such a case, you can complain to these bodies.
2. I am a pharmacist by profession. Is it true that when I leave the occupation and submit documents for a foreign passport in Ukraine, I must immediately enter the military register and may be drafted into the ranks of the Armed Forces, and I will not have the right to travel abroad?
From October 1, all medical women, i.e. doctors, nurses, dentists, midwives, pharmacists, aged 18 to 60 will be required to register for military service. Registration does not mean that a woman will be called to the battle front.
The mobilization of women in Ukraine has not been carried out and is not planned. All women who serve in the Armed Forces do this voluntarily.
Registration of women does not carry any restrictions on traveling abroad.
3. I went to the "elections" in the Zaporizhzhia oblast. I couldn't help but go, because I would be fired from my job. Now the occupiers say that there is an article in the Criminal Code of Ukraine for participation in "elections" and they can deprive them of their freedom.
Participation in voting in pseudo-elections does not entail criminal or other liability. However, Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine stipulates responsibility for participation in the organization and holding of illegal "elections" in the temporarily occupied territory or public calls for their holding.
4. My child was born in the occupied territory. I received a Russian birth certificate. They say that now, for her to acquire Ukrainian citizenship, the procedure will be the same as for foreigners.
This is a fake. Children born to citizens of Ukraine even under occupation can receive a Ukrainian birth certificate. Currently, this is a legal procedure (but not difficult and not long-lasting).
A law has been developed that should simplify such a procedure. We are waiting for its consideration and acceptance. Your child is a citizen of Ukraine.
