The Russian occupiers say that thanks to them, a square and a sports ground appeared in Sievierodonetsk, but these objects were reconstructed in the period 2019-2021 by local activists together with the authorities.
On July 23, 2023 the occupation resources of Luhansk oblast published a video with a sports ground and captioned it as follows: "Sunday in one of the city's neighborhoods. Soon there will be many such sports grounds.
After some time, other enemy resources generally spread the information, where they wrote that it was the occupiers who built the sports ground:"These are such modern sports grounds being built in the city of Sievierodonetsk."
It turned out to be another lie spread by propagandists from Luhansk We explain why.
The reconstruction of the square around the Amstor shopping center at 29 Kosmonavtiv Avenue began in 2019.First, the playgrounds were reconstructed, new tiles were laid. In 2020 a skate park, volleyball, basketball court, and "Sports Town" - outdoor sports simulators appeared here.
We found evidence, including from colleagues, who testify that the works were carried out back in 2020, that is, when the city was under the control of Ukraine.
On August 30, 2020, Sievierodonetsk Online published a video of the opening of the "Sports Town" on its Facebook page.
Publication "Chas Pik" and " Skhidnyi variant" also shared this information, which dates back to late August 2020.

In 2021, works were carried out on the reconstruction and beautification of the square, namely: the installation of an additional sports ground, the laying of tiles around the territory of the square.
On December 2, 2021, a video with this park was published on the YouTube channel of the Sieveirodonetsk City Military Administration. A video of this park was published on December 2, 2021.
Also, in September 2020, chess competitions were held in this park for students of the Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School № 4.
What conclusions can be drawn from this? The Russians once again "appropriated" what was done in Ukraine during the period 2014-2022. And they are not doing this for the first time...
